1337359 Imidocarbonate derivatives SUMITOMO CHEMICAL CO Ltd 15 Oct 1971 [19 April 1971] 17970/72 Addition to 1335617 Heading C2C Novel imidocarbonate derivatives of the formula wherein Y is an oxygen or sulphur atom, R<SP>2</SP> is a (C 1 -C 18 ) acyclic alkyl group or a (C 1 -C 4 ) alkyl-substituted benzyl radical, and R<SP>4</SP> is a secondary propyl or tertiary butyl group or a 7 halogen atom are prepared by either (a) reacting a thionocarbamic or dithiocarbamic acid ester of the formula with an organic halide of the formula wherein X is a halogen atom, optionally in a solvent and in the presence of a base which acts as a neutralizing agent; (b) reacting N-3- pyridyl isocyanic acid dichloride with an alkali metal mercaptide of the formula R<SP>3</SP>-S-M wherein M is an alkali metal atom, to give a product of the formula wherein R<SP>3</SP> is a secondary propyl or tertiarybutyl substituted benzyl radical; (c) reacting an imidocarbonate chloride of the formula with an alkali metal mercaptide of the formula to give a product having the formula or (d) reacting a dialkali metal imidodithiocarbonate of the formula with an organic halide of the formula R<SP>3</SP>.X to give a product having the same formula as that of process (b). The novel compounds possess microbicidal activity.
