Abstract

1323943 Tubular heat exchangers SVENSKA MASKINVERKEN AB 27 Aug 1970 [3 Sept 1969] 41193/70 Heading F4S A heat exchanger comprises a jacket 1 containing a central tube 2 through which one heat exchange fluid is supplied to a distribution header 8 and thence to a series of helically wound tubes 3, 4, 5, 6 arranged in coaxial layers and extending between the header 8 and a collection header 11. The tubes 5 and 6 which form one layer and are wound in one direction around the tube 2 are arranged to mutually contact and thereby support the tubes 3 and 4 forming a second layer and wound in the opposite direction. A second heat exchanger fluid entering through inlet 15 flows upwards over the helical tubes and leaves the top of the heat exchanger jacket through an outlet 16. (For Figure see next page.)
