Abstract

1320873 Rolling VYZKUMNY USTAV TVARECICH STROJU A TECHNOLOGIE TVARENI 7 Jan 1971 [16 Jan 1970] 893/71 Heading B3M A cross wedge rolling apparatus comprises a wedge tool 12 operable on a cylindrical workpiece supported by a pair of rollers 14, 15. The workpiece is held from axial movement by frictional engagement with the rollers 14, 15 whose angular separation (#), Fig. 2 (not shown), is adjustable. The wedge tool 12 may be mounted on a plane surface or a roller 11 driven at the same speed as the rollers 14, 15 through gearing 17-19. An abutment 12a at the end of the wedge tool 12 serves to eject the rolled workpiece. The rollers 14, 15 are mounted on shafts 14a, 15a whose ends may be journalled in blocks (14b), (15b) Fig. 5 (not shown), slidably in a curved track to change the angle (#). The rollers 14, 15 may have one or more back-up rollers (29), Figs. 6 and 7 (not shown).
