1319736 Cabinets; joints CLIVE INVESTMENTS PTY Ltd 21 June 1971 [30 June 1970] 29016/71 Headings A4B and A4H A showcase comprises a frame structure supporting a base 23, glass front and side panels 27, a glass top 42 and sliding rear doors 30, the frame structure including corner uprights 22 extending between upper and lower closed frames 36-39 and 16-19 comprising frame members disposed end to end and inter-connected at right angles to each other and to an adjacent corner upright 22, at least the joints in the upper frame including and L-shaped brace 46 the limbs of which are engaged in C-shaped sockets 45 in the adjacent frame members, the limbs of the brace 46 being secured by grub screws 48 threaded through holes 47 in the limbs and bearing on the base end of the socket 45. The panels, such as 27, may be held in channels in the frame members by cushioning strips 28. The upper and lower frame members, e.g. 39, may be secured to the uprights by a screw 32 passed through a hole in the frame member 39 and engaged, e.g. by self-tapping, in a groove 34 in the upright 22. Alternatively, the corner brace may have a third limb which is secured to the upright 22. The showcase is fitted with a shelf 49 which may be supported either along the length of its front and sides, Fig.2 (not shown) or, as shown, by brackets cantilevered by rear posts 50 secured to the frame. In another embodiment, Fig.10 (not shown), the showcase is L-shaped in plan view.
