Abstract

1318359 Thread cutters RHONE-POULENC-TEXTILE 19 April 1971 [16 April 1971] 27059/71 Heading B4B [Also in Division D1] Pneumatic apparatus for handling textile threads or strands (See Division D1-D2) incorporates a thread-cutter having a handle 12 and a stirrup 12<SP>1</SP> acting on a spring 14-loaded, fluid-regulating ball device 13. A diaphragm 15, when actuated by compressed air, urges a spring 19-loaded piston-knife 16 against a counterknife 17 to cut the passing thread 10 which they surround. In normal use, an operator presses the handle 12 and on release thereof the cutter is operated and a thread delivery conduit 3 is obstructed thus preventing any renewed thread engagement.
