Abstract
1314115 I. C. engine fuel injections ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 19 April 1971 [14 March 1970] 23462/71 Headings F1B and F1D A fuel injection pump nozzle for 1. C. engines comprised a pump piston 37 operated by a servopiston 34, fuel being fed from a supply pipe 29 to the pump piston working chamber 41 via a supply valve 44 and to the servopiston pressure chamber 32 when a magnetically operated valve 73,, which is operated in timed relationship with engine cycles is opened to start the injection. When valve 73 is returned to the position shown in Fig. 1, injection ceases and the servopiston begins its return stroke causing fuel in chamber 32 to be ejected via a return pipe 36. There is a continuously open connection between the pump working chamber 41 and an injection nozzle chamber 57 whose outlet is controlled by a valve needle 19. The needle 19 is opened by pressure in chamber 57 when the pump piston 37 is actuated. The magnetically operated valve is pressure compensated via passage 85. Fuel leaking past pistons 34, 37 collects in chamber 69 and is taken via non- return valve 68 to return pipe 36.
