Abstract

1311616 Linear accelerators V A BOMKO E I REVUTSKY B I RUDIAK and A V PIPA 5 April 1971 8669/71 Heading H1D Alinear accelerator comprises a cavity resonator 1 having drift tubes 2, timing means 3 on a side wall of the cavity and additional tuning means in the form of a conductive elongated member 4 in an end wall of the cavity and parallel to the axis thereof and capable of being moved parallel to said axis. It is stated that by so moving member 4 the circular E 011 mode is deformed and that by doing this the final energy of the particles can be varied.
