1311423 Deuterating secondary or tertiary acyclic bromides or alicyclic bromides CHARLES E FROSST & CO 3 May 1971 [8 May 1970] 12646/71 Heading C2C Hydrogen atoms in secondary or tertiary acyclic or alicyclic bromides are replaced by deuterium atoms by reacting the bromides with a solution of deuteriobromic acid in deuterium oxide for sufficient time to provide an equilibrium in the exchange of the hydrogens of the bromide compounds by deuterium atoms.
