Abstract

1310212 Bread slicers ROSE FORGROVE Ltd 3 March 1972 [16 March 1971] 7012/71 Heading A4C A bread slicing machine of the kind comprising a loaf support plate (14), Fig.3, (not shown) reciprocating frames 12, 12A carrying slicing blades 11 and a conveyor belt unit consisting of side belts 16 for engaging the ends of the loaves and a bottom belt 15, has the side belts 16 extending through the frames 12, 12A so as to positively drive each loaf through the cutting blades. The belts, 15, 16 may be withdrawn as a unit to the position shown in chain-dotted lines in order to facilitate easy replacement of the blades. The angle of the frames 12, 12A to the direction of feed, and the angle of the bottom belt 15 to the horizontal are variable, for example the belt 15 may be inclined to the horizontal, and the frames may extend perpendicularly from the belt. The blades 11 may be carried by a single frame or alternate blades may be carried by the frame 12 with the blades carried by frame 12A, the frames 12, 12A being arranged to reciprocate in opposite directions so that one frame is moving upwardly when the other is moving downwardly.
