Abstract

1310003 Chimney and like flashings G W BAMBROUGH [trading as GEORGE BAMBROUGH ASSOCIATES] 2 July 1971 [12 Jan 1971] 1458/71 Heading F4J A pipe projecting through a sloping roof is sealed thereto by an aluminium or like plate 1 attached to a neoprene collar 2 whose axis is inclined at 75 degrees to the plate flashing 3. The collar 2 has upper and intermediate portions 12 and 11 of opposite conicity and a lower portion 6 formed with a thicker section 7 and a rib 8 engaging a recess 9 in the upper frusto-conical section 5 of the plate 1. The upper section 12 of the collar has an inner rib 13 sealing against the pipe. The collar may be bonded to a flange on the flashing 3 (Fig. 5) or both collar and flashing may have bonded flanges (Fig. 6). Another modification (Fig. 7) shows the collar with a bifurcated lower rim forming a push fit over the flashing flange.
