Abstract
1308609 Transistor switching circuits CAV Ltd 28 May 1970 [11 June 1969] 29515/69 Heading H3T An inductor 14 is connected in the circuit shown for periodical energization from a D.C. source 12, the arrangement being such that when the circuit is opened by first switching means (transistor 15) the energy stored in the inductor is used to charge capacitor 16 via diode 18, and that when the circuit is subsequently re-closed the voltage on the capacitor is added to that of the supply, second switch means (thyristor 17) being closed simultaneously with the first. When the capacitor is discharged energization continues at supply voltage via diode 13. The inductor may comprise a fuel valve in a fuel injection system for an I.C. engine. In Fig. 2 (not shown) a number of such inductors are energized in sequence; capacitor 16, diode 13 and thyristor 17 are common but each inductor is associated with a diode 18 and is connected to a common transistor 15 via its own tnyristor (19).
