Abstract

1308225 Doffing; alarms MAREMONT CORP 3 Aug 1970 [7 Oct 1969] 37415/70 Headings DID and DIF An automatic bobbin doffer includes a grasper bar 22 extending along a row of spindles having thereon a plurality of bobbin graspers, a foldable support 59 connected to the machine and the grasper bar for moving the bar 22 laterally and vertically between positions vertically below and vertically above the spindles, the grasper bar 22 and its support 59 being entirely below the spindles in the lower folded position. As shown, when the bobbins B' on the ring spinning spindles 18 are fully wound, the graspers 28 are hydraulically pivoted forwardly and upwardly to lie above the bobbins, the graspers are inserted into the ends of the bobbins and inflated. The full bobbins are then removed and lowered onto conveyor belt 24. The conveyor belt is moved to bring empty bobbins B below the graspers 28 which then grip the bobbins and donn them onto the spindles. A photoelectric stop motion 74, 76 stops the doffing cycle actuates a visual or audible alarm upon sensing an undoffed spindle. The conveyer belt 24 is endless and removes the fully wound bobbins to end 14 of the machine. The lower run of the belt 24 returns inside hollow support 30. Empty bobbins are loaded at end 12 of the machine.
