Abstract

1300093 Mixing apparatus ARTHUR PFEIFFER VAKUUMTECHNIK GES 14 Jan 1970 [17 Jan 1969] 1774/70 Heading B1C Mixing apparatus comprises a container 1, a rod 2 carrying one or more mixing members 6 arranged to reciprocate vertically within the container, and a pump for discharging material from the container, the pump comprising a piston 4 formed at the lower end of the rod and a cylinder 5 which extends into the container and is provided with at least one opening 27 below the top dead centre position of the piston to allow entry of material for discharge. The mixing member(s) may be discshaped, and may either be perforated or non- perforated. The rod may be reciprocated by means of a double-acting pressure medium cylinder 3. The container may be provided with a heat-transfer jacket and a suction port 11 for degassing. Piston 4 may be perforated and rod 2 provided with a bore 21 and distribution pipes fitted with pressure-relief valves and nozzles, whereby on ejection of material from the nozzles, the rod is rotated and the material issuing from the nozzles is directed on to the walls thereby rinsing them. A perforated plate 25 may be housed in the lower part of cylinder 5.
