Abstract

1296149 Rack-mounted electrical equipment VERO ELECTRONICS Ltd 3 June 1971 [5 March 1970] 10645/70 Heading H1R [Also in Division E2] A front panel 27 is attached to a card or module 20 by means of a dovetail slot 25 engaging with a mounting bracket 24, the panel being clamped in position by means of a grub screw 29 screwed into a nut (30), (Figs. 4, 5, not shown), held captive in the bracket 24. A similar mounting arrangement may preferably be provided at the other end of the panel. A handle 26 may be provided on the mounting bracket for facilitating insertion or withdrawal of the card or module from a rack. When a number of cards or modules are fully inserted into the rack the front panels are arranged to form a continuous front wall panel of differing widths being used when necessary. The rack is of the kind comprising a pair of end plates (10), (Figs. 1, 2, not shown), joined by front and rear pairs of longitudinal members (11), (12), and top and bottom guide members (18) extending between the front and rear longitudinal members and having grooves for guiding the cards or modules. Edge connectors (21), (Figs. 1, 2, not shown), are provided on the rack for making electrical connection to the cards or modules.
