Abstract
1296084 Slides RIV-SKF OFFICINE DI VILLAR PEROSA SpA 2 Feb 1970 [8 Feb 1969] 4876/70 Heading B3B [Also in Division F2] A machine tool bed 1, which includes a cylindrical shaft 4 and a bracket part 2a, supports a slide 5 by means of flat hydrostatic bearings 9, 10 and by two axially spaced cylindrical hydrostatic bearings 19. Each of the hydrostatic bearings is of bilateral action, i.e., a force exerted on the slide on one side is balanced by a force exerted on an opposite side. The hydrostatic bearings comprise a sump into which oil under pressure is pumped, an oil collector channel into which the oil flows, and sealing means around the collector channel. In each of the cylindrical bearings four pressure sumps are arranged in opposite pairs. The flat bearings 9, 10 comprises oppositely faced annular channels and circular sumps.
