1295749 Supporting rock drills AIR ADVANTAGE (AUSTRALIA) PTY Ltd 24 Sept 1970 [2 Oct 1969] 45595/70 Heading B4C [Also in Division E1] A mounting frame for rock working tools comprises a part-rotatable turntable slidably supporting a primary arm having, on one end, a head slidably and rotatably supporting a secondary arm, a yoke mounted on a secondary arm end and swingably supporting a tool cradle carrier, and means to move and hold in a selected position the turntable, arms and carrier. The frame may comprise, Fig. 1, a wheeled chassis 1 having stabilizing jacks and stays 4. The chassis supports turntable 10 on a pivot and on rollers 12, the turntable being part-rotated and held in a selected position by a chassis-mounted air motor via an endless chain fixed to the turntables' periphery. The turntable slidably supports primary arm 21 on rollers, the arm passing through the turntables pivot axis and being moved and held in a selected position by air motor 31 via chain 24 running around arm pulleys 27, 28 and being fixed to the turntable. The primary arm supports head 33, Fig. 2, by pivot 35, the head being held in a selected position by arm bolt 38 inserted in one of the holes 36 in the head. Sleeve 33 of the head slidably supports secondary arm 45 and is rotated and held in a selected position by air motor 44 via chain 41. Arm 45 is moved in sleeve 33 by air motor 51 via chain 46 attached to sleeve 33 and running around arm pulleys 49. Arm 45 supports yoke 52 pivotally supporting tool carrier 55 which is pivoted and held in a selected position by air jacks 57. An implement cradle is mounted on the carrier for sliding movement controlled by air jacks. The frame is remotely controlled from unit 66.
