Abstract

1285804 Rollers ECE ELEKTROSTATIK UND CHEMISCHE ENTWICKLUNGS GmbH and DEUTSCHE EDELSTAHLWERKE AG 26 Nov 1970 [11 Dec 1969] 56214/70 Heading F2U [Also in Division B6] A cylinder used in electrostatic printing comprises a member having its peripheral surface magnetized in alternate north and south parallel bands each band being at an angle of 45 degrees to a generatrix of the member. The cylinder may comprise a one-piece magnetic cylinder of isotropic barium ferrite or a core 3 over which is assembled a plurality of sintered discs 2, Fig. 2, of hard ferrite sinter ceramic material which are are bonded together with a suitable agent or adhesive. The cylinders are suitably magnetized in a head comprising a tubular member 7, Fig. 3, of electrically non-conductive material lined with helically positioned magnetizing wires 8 and 9.
