Abstract

1285506 Packaging bobbins MAREMONT CORP. 24 Aug 1970 [9 Oct 1969] 40631/70 Heading B8C In apparatus for bottom loading bobbins B<SP>1</SP> into a receptacle 20 mounted on a movable platform 18 and comprising an elevating device 22<SP>1</SP> for raising a bobbin through an opening 24<SP>1</SP> in the platform 18, the operation of the elevating device 22<SP>1</SP> is automatically terminated in the event of abnormal feed of the bobbins. The elevating device 22<SP>1</SP> is driven by an electric motor 26 via a clutch 28<SP>1</SP>, the bobbins being fed to the device 221 on an endless belt 32<SP>1</SP> driven by an electric motor 34 via a clutch 35<SP>1</SP>. One edge of the platform 18 is connected to a fixed frame 12 for pivoting and vertical translation. When the platform is moved upwardly by bobbins jamming on the elevating device 22<SP>1</SP> it activates a switch 60<SP>1</SP> to de-energize the motors 26, 34 and disengages the clutches 28<SP>1</SP>, 35<SP>1</SP>. Photo-electric detectors 62<SP>1</SP>, 64<SP>1</SP> adjacent the belt 32<SP>1</SP> are operative to disengage the clutches 28<SP>1</SP>, 35<SP>1</SP> in the event of blockage on the belt 32<SP>1</SP>. Further bobbins are fed on a second belt 32 to a second lifting device 22 which lifts them into a second container, the belt 32 and the elevating device 22 being driven by the motors 34, 36 via clutches 35, 28, and the operation of these being controlled by a photo-electric detector 62, 64 and a switch 60 as described above.
