Abstract

128,340. Nessler, C. May 13, 1918. Hair-curling appliances; combs, hair.-Combs 1 are connected by adjustably pivoted links 7, 8, 13, 14, 17, 18, 21, 22 so that they can be moved to the right or left parallel to each other. An elastic 25 passes through holes alternately towards opposite ends of the combs, and draws the' combs together whilst thrusting them alternately in opposite directions sideways. A coiled spring may replace the elastic; or separate springs may be arranged obliquely between adjacent combs. The points of the teeth of the combs follow a shallow curve, as shown, or the teeth may be telescopic so as automatically to adjust themselves to the shape of the head.
