1280967 Manifolding webs MASCHINENFABRIK GOEBEL GmbH 16 June 1971 [18 June 1970] 28226/71 Heading B6A Apparatus for producing form sets for superposed webs 1, Fig. 1, comprises a first punching unit including a punching roller 2 provided with alternately disposed tools 4, 5 producing tongues 6, Fig. 2a, and holes 7, Fig. 2b, in superposed webs 8, 12, 13 in conjunction with a subjacent disc roller 2, the webs being then passed under a guide roller 9 such that the upper web 8 can be displaced relatively to the subjacent webs 12, 13 when passed over a guide roller 10 to align the tongues and holes of the upper web 8 with holes and tongues, respectively, of the subjacent webs 12, 13 the superposed webs 1 are then passed under a guide roller 11 to a second punching unit having a punching roller 14 which is provided with alternate sets of tools 16, 17 one 16 of which pushes the tongues 6 of the web 8 through the holes Fig. 5 of the subjacent webs 12, 13 whilst the other tool 17 severs the tongues 6, Fig. 4b of the subjacent webs. The superposed webs are next passed towards an adhesive dispersing device 18 in which a roller 20 applies a spot 22 of adhesive to the web 13 adjacent the tongues 7 which are then applied against the web 13 by a rotary brush 23 in association with a projection 25, Fig. 6, in a disc 24 and consolidated by a pair of calendering rollers 26, 27, to apply the tongue firmly against the lower face of web 13, Fig. 7.
