Abstract

1,272,347. Filter assemblies. AMP Inc. 13 Nov., 1970 [9 Dec., 1969], No. 54064/70. Heading H1R. A lossy radio frequency filter comprises a ferrite element having a layer of dielectric material, e.g. barium titanate, which has been deposited directly on to the element. In one embodiment, Fig. 2, the ferrite element 5 is tubular and the dielectric layer 6 has a metal plating layer 7 thereon. Gaps in the plating 8, 9 isolate the region A contacted by the earthing plate from the region 13 contacted by the live pin, Fig. 5, not shown. The filter may be in the form a sheet of ferrite having metalized dielectric on one or both sides. A further embodiment has two ferrite sheets separated by a metal sheet and having metalized dielectric on the outer surfaces, Figs. 7-9 (not shown). Fig. 6 shows a filter (16-19) set into a printed circuit having one earth conductor 20.
