Abstract

127,150. Adams, A. S. July 20, 1918. Methods of sighting.-Relates to mountings for trench mortars of the Stokes type, and consists in universally jointing the barrel A to a support or pedestal, and moving the breech end of the barrel over longitudinal grooves h in a part spherical base plate B, the elevation of the gun being changed by moving up and down a groove and the traverse being effected by moving from groove to groove. The grooves may correspond to squares on the map and correct ranges for various directions of fire may be registered by means of adjustable stops k adapted to slide in each of the grooves.
