Abstract
1,269,981. TR switching. PLESSEY CO. Ltd. No. 8864/69. 6 Feb., 1970 [18 Feb., 1969 Heading H4L. [Also in Division H1] A protective arrangement for attenuation of signals passing along transmission line 1 comprises a PIN diode D1 and capacitor C in series across a line 2 connected in parallel with line 1, at a point X/4 from the connection. With no signal applied at T and D non-conductive the line 2 shows as a low impedance at the junction with 1, thus attenuating signals passing from a receiver aerial to (for example) a radar receiver. When A signal is applied to T to forward-bias D, the low impedance at A is reflected as a high impedance at the junction to allow received signals to pass unattenuated. Stub line 3 is provided to match the reactance of diode D.
