1,268,363. Balloon limiter; cap spindles; piecing arrangements. T.M.M. (RESEARCH) Ltd. 2 Oct., 1969 [17 Oct., 1968], No. 49284/ 68. Heading DID. A cap spinning machine includes a tubular balloon control member 24 which has a yarn entry end in the region of the top of the cap and which extends downwardly over the cap and is shaped to form a restricted yarn passage between itself and the cap. The balloon control member may be a single or double frusto-conical shape or a hyperboloid of revolution. The spindle can have a piecing up device formed by delivery rollers 12, 13 and a yam delivery tube 14 in which a spiral air current is produced to cause the broken end to gyrate around the spindle to be picked up by the bobbin.
