Abstract
1,268,287. Positive clutches, clutch control. E. SCHEUBECK. 2 Oct., 1970 [3 Oct., 1969], No. 46892/70. Headings F2C and F2L. A drive disconnecting mechanism for a transformer tap selector comprises a lug 20 of a driving pinion 15 engageable with a pawl 21 pivoted on a pin 23 of a crank 22 fast with a driven shaft 13 and a control sleeve 26 which is normally rotated by a cap 250 of the pawl 21 engaging circumferential projections 30 on the sleeve 26. When a stop (31) is projected into the path of a projection 29 on the sleeve 26, the latter is stopped together with the cap 250 of the pawl 21. Thereafter continued rotation of the driving pinion 15 pivots the pawl 21 about the cap 250 to a position in which the lug 20 can pass over the shoulders 210 of the pawl 21 to disconnect the drive. The drive is automatically re-established when the direction of the driving pinion 15 is reversed whereupon a spring pressed friction pad 25 carried by the cap 250 and engaging the pinion 15 tilts the pawl 21 into the driving position (as shown in Fig. 2). The pinion 15 may be driven from an electric motor (19) through a pinion (16) in mesh with the pinion 15 or by a manually rotatable shaft (18) through bevel gears (17, 152). The stop (31) is actuated by a linkage mechanism (33) in response to rotation of the driven shaft 13.
