Abstract

1,266,146. Incinerators. HEENAN & FROUDE Ltd., T. SALTER, and G. A. ARCHER. 5 May, 1969 [3 May, 1968], No. 21023/68. Heading F4B. Sewage sludge from a line 7 is atomized with steam in an atomizer 6 and dried in a chamber 8 supplied with hot gases from an incinerator 1. Dried sludge is fed by a line 9 to the incinerator 1 together with town's refuse from a hopper 2. The steam with which the sludge is atomized is heated at 4 by hot gases from the incinerator, and the cooled gases from the steam generator 4 and drier 8 are mingled with unused flue gases from the incinerator before being cleaned at 14.
