Abstract

1,263,666. Door closer. AMMUS SYTYTIN OY. 31 March, 1970, No. 15193/70. Heading E2M. A door closer comprises a spring-biased, double-walled closing plunger, filled with a restraining medium, e.g. oil, and connected to a door-operating arm and a stationary brake plunger acting within the closing plunger. In the figure, compression spring 4 biases closing plunger 2, connected to operating arm 5, to close the door. As the door is opened, oil flows freely through ball valve 14 to the leading side of brake plunger 3. On closing, oil is forced through bore 12 and holes 11 to space 8 and then through holes 9 back to the far side of the brake plunger, at a speed subject to adjusting screw 13.
