[Also in Division C2] Pharmaceutical compositions comprise a compound I: where R is HOCH 2 - or HCO- and R<SP>2</SP> is H or alkali metal atom provided R<SP>2</SP> is H when R<SP>2</SP> is HCO-, which compounds have anti-tumour and immuno suppressive activity, and a suitable carrier or diluent for oral or parenteral administration. The composition may also contain a known anti-tumour agent e.g. 6-mercapto-purine.
