Gun cartridges; projectiles.- Relates to shells having a propellent cartridge attached thereto by means of an annular series of prongs with gaps between them, and consists in modifications of the arrangement shown in Fig. 10 of the parent Specification, in which the cartridge has a paper tubular lining. According to the invention, the prongs d, projecting from the fuse-plug c, fit closely around the outer edge, of the cartridge-case a, or are replaced by a ring without gaps, holes b or slots being in each case formed in the cartridge as vents, while the paper lining f extends up to the extreme end of the cartridgecase.
