Abstract

1,251,514. Splicing strands; hand tool. TECHNISERVICE CORP. 28 Oct., 1968, No. 51078/68. Headings D1F and D1W. Strands are spliced by juxtaposing the strands side-by-side in a chamber and rotating a fluid circumferentially around the strands whilst restraining movement of the strands along the chamber. The splice may be in the form of a false-twist. The strands can be spliced by a hand tool which has a pistol-type air blowing device which can blow air into the chamber mounted transversely on its barrel. The pistol may sequentially supply both hot air and adhesive to the splice. The splice strands can be drawn and crimped.
