Abstract

1,249,335. Reciprocating pumps. UNIVERSAL FLUID DYNAMICS CO. Dec 2, 1968, No.57124/68. Heading F1A. In a reciprocating concrete pump the end-faces of a pair of pumping cylinders having pistons reciprocated in opposite directions by hydraulic motors engage a valve plate and the cylinder assembly is either oscillated linearly or angularly so that the open ends of the cylinders alternately communicate with a supply hopper or a discharge pipe. In the first embodiment the cylinder assembly is oscillated linearly by a hydraulic piston 47 along rollers 52, 53 engaging the valve plate 50, and rollers 40, 41 engaging an end-plate 42 secured to the cylinders. In the second embodiment in which the cylinder assembly is angularly oscillated by a rotary hydraulic motion a hose (110b), Fig.10, (not shown) surrounds the hopper openings and the delivery tube bore and is open towards the valve plate on the end of the cylinders, hydraulic fluid being passed to the hose to form a lubricator-seal between the plate and the hopper.
