Abstract

1,244,478. Casting foamed webs. METZELER A.G. 18 July, 1968 [21 Aug., 1967], No. 8677/71. Divided out of 1,241,805. Heading B5A. Foamed plastics webs of rectangular crosssection and having flat top surfaces are cast in a loosely lined channel 101 formed by side walls 102 and moving bottom 103, the side walls being vibrated or oscillated to reduce their adhesion to the material thereby ensuring a flat-topped product. The walls may be suspended by rubber cushioning means 108 and can be vertically oscillated by rotating eccentrics 107. Alternatively, the walls may be horizontally oscillated by suitably placed rotating eccentrics or cranks.
