Abstract

1,240,867. Heating fluids for smoke-making &c. CONCEPT ENG. Ltd. 28 Aug., 1969 [28 Aug., 1968], No. 41135/68. Heading A5G. [Also in Division F4] Apparatus for heating fluids, especially liquid and liquid/gas mixtures for generating smoke, comprises a metal block 1 capable of being heated to the desired temperature and having a bore 2 and at least one passage 9 leading to it through the block, there being a second passage 13 also. A plug 5 fits symmetrically in the bore so that a fluid-permeable heating space 7 is formed between the bore and the plug through which the fluid to be heated may circulate. The plug and/or bore may be knurled to provide the passageway for the fluid and the block may contain additional bores (3) and (4) for receiving an electrical heating element and thermostat (see Fig. 2, not shown).
