Abstract

1,229,250. Laminates. FMC CORP. 22 Jan., 1969 [23 Jan., 1968], No. 3529/69. Addition to 1,229,249. Heading B5N. [Also in Division C3] A copper-clad laminate may be produced by coating a copper sheet with a thin film of a polyphenylene oxide resin, heating the coated copper to a temperature of 100‹ to 170‹ C. for from 5 to 30 minutes, laminating the coated copper at a temperature of at least 80‹ C. to a base comprising a reinforced material impregnated with at least 20% by weight, based on the reinforcing material plus the polymer, of a composition comprising an unsaturated polyester, monomer, a polyphenylene ether and a catalyst. In the examples a glass cloth laminate and a copper clad glass cloth laminate are prepared.
