A container desiccating stopper 7 which prevents abrasive degradation of the contents when the container 1 is full, comprises pad 3 of resilient foamed material, e.g. of polyurethane, seated in cap 7 which bears against the container contents, the pad and cap enclosing a cavity 4 containing desiccant such as silica gel. Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown) illustrate alternative embodiments in which the cavity is entirely enclosed by the foamed material. If desired, the foamed material may be impregnated with desiccant.
