Abstract
1,204,712. Pulse lengthening and switching circuits. MARCONI CO. Ltd. 18 April, 1968 [4 Aug., 1967], No. 35994/67. Heading H3T. A switching circuit has an output transistor switched by an input pulse, the quasi-stablestate output of a monostable transistor-pair circuit maintaining the output transistor state for a predetermined time at the end of the pulse. In the Figure a cross-coupled transistor monostable circuit is connected to a transistor T3 which has an operating device L1, e.g. a teleprinter solenoid in its output circuit. A pulse input can be applied to transistor T1 through capacitor C1 and to T3 through resistor R2. Under stable conditions, with a negative input, T1 is conducting and T2 and T3 are cut off. On receipt of a positive pulse, T3 conducts and at its completion, the monostable circuit assumes its quasi-stable state with T2 conducting and T1 cut off. During the predetermined duration of this state, T3 continues to conduct, although the input is now negative. Diode D1 removes negative charge from the base of T1 before the next triggering. Further apparatus can be controlled from terminal OUT.
