1,197,619. Reduction catalyst. Z. AZOTOWE im. PAWLA FINDERA. 15 Nov., 1967, No. 52027/67. Heading B1E. [Also in Division C1] A compound of Pt, Pd, Os, Ru, Rh or Ir is reduced in the presence of a carrier, such that the solution of metal contains not more than 1 Kg. per 300 litres. Specified carriers are powdered graphite, active carbon and carbon black. In examples H 2 PtCl 6 solution is reduced with 10% H.CHO solution. The process may be used to prepare fresh catalysts or to regenerate spent ones.
