Abstract

1.196,366. Releasable fasteners. ROSS COURTNEY & CO. Ltd. 24 March, 1969 [16 April, 1968], No. 17832/68. Heading E2B. A tie comprises a strip of flexible plastics material 12 having a head end 15 and a tail end 13, the tail end being able to pass through a slot 16 in the head end to form a loop and being formed with a plurality of perforations 14 spaced along its length and the strip a stud secured to the strip substantially in alignment with the perforations and engageable with any one of the perforations to secure the strip in the loop. In the construction shown the strip is formed with a further stud 20 similar to the stud 17 and spaced therefrom by a distance equal to a multiple of the pitch of the perforation 14, this receives the free end of the portion of the tail of the strip and holds it tidyly. The outer end of the tail is formed with serrations 21 on its upper surface to catch in the slot 16. The perforations 14 shown are circular but can be slits or key hole shaped. The tie is made of a plastics material.
