Abstract
1,194,963. Toy vehicle suspension. DIE CASTING MACHINE TOOLS Ltd. and A. R. MILLS. 26 Feb., 1969 [11 June, 1968], No. 27781/68. Heading A6S. A suspension, in or for a toy vehicle, comprises a body portion, 10, and at least one elongate spring member, 11, 12, which constitutes at least one resilient axle portion and which is shaped to cooperate with retaining means on the body portion whereby the elongate spring is held in position. Preferably the spring is of steel wire the end portion of which constitutes a stub axle. In preferred embodiments, the two stub axles constituted by the elongate spring are aligned (Fig 6) or constitute axles for one each of two different pairs of wheels for the vehicle (Fig. 2). The retaining means may be arranged and constructed so that the spring can be engaged or disengaged therefrom by deforming the spring, and preferably comprises a plurality of lugs, 113, formed integrally with the body portion, and at least one peg, 14, upstanding from the body portion. When the retaining means and spring are mounted on the top of the body portion they can be hidden from view by the rest of the vehicle body, and when mounted beneath they can be hidden from view by the disposition of a further plate beneath the springs and mountings. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 6 the peg, 16, retains the spring in such a way that the wheels mounted on the ends thereof are steerable.
