Abstract

A camping trailer has a vertically movable roof actuated by cables 33 acting on extensible corner posts, the cables being directed round guide pulleys 33a, 47a, 46b, 48a, 48b to a crosshead 49 in which they are anchored. The crosshead 49 is secured to a recirculating ball screw nut 64 mounted on a screw 41 rotatable electrically or manually by a chain gear. The cables 33 are individually adjustable for tension at the crosshead 49 and suitable guides prevent rotation of the crosshead during actuation of the screw mechanism.
