Abstract

1,189,671. Connecting precast building panels. C.S.E.P. S.A. 3 May, 1967 [3 May, 1966], No. 20654/67. Heading E1W. A precast floor unit 1 or 2 comprising substantially parallel reinforced beams 3 (Fig. 1, not shown) is connected along an edge normal to the beams to the junction zone between a pair of superposed vertical panels 10, 14, said edge comprising a projection 7 extending therealong which is interrupted at the ends of the beams, the projection serving to support the floor unit on the underlying panel 10 of the two vertical panels whilst in turn providing support for the superposed vertical panel 14, the upper edge of the underlying panel presenting a longitudinal recess 11 which defines a part of the joint zone into which zone extends the reinforcements projecting from the ends of the beams and from the upper and lower ends of the vertical panels. Concrete filling can be introduced into the joint zone through openings formed either at 16 at positions of the beams along the lower edge of the superposed vertical panel 14, or at 18, at similar positions along the edge of the floor unit. The floor units and panels for several storeys of a multi-storey building may be so arranged before final binding by said filling.
