Abstract

1,186,662. Container closures. SCHMALBACH-LUBECA-WERKE A.G. 22 Jan., 1968 [25 Jan., 1967], No. 3281/68. Headings B8D and B8T. A closure 1, for a container having a mouth defined by an outwardly directed rim, is made of plastics material and comprises a crown, which consists of two portions connected by a hinge 4, and an outer skirt 5 having weakened areas 12 at each end of the hinge. The crown portion 2 which stays attached to the container, has an inner skirt 8 which combines with under. cut 7 to form a recess 9, whilst movable crown portion 3 has a lug 16 and fins 17 to facilitate opening. On opening the weakened areas tear to leave visible indication after reclosing. Web 11 and groove 15 enable container closure assemblies to be stacked on each other, Fig. 7 (not shown). Lugs, hooks or the like may be provided on the outer skirt for affixing selling aids and may have weakened areas to permit their removal. Reference has -been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,084,025.
