Abstract
1,186,213. Isomerisation catalysts. BRITISH HYDROCARBON CHEMICALS Ltd. 8 July, 1968 [25 May, 1967], No. 24336/67. Heading B1E. [Also in Division C5] A boron phosphate catalyst comprises a boron phosphate matrix having silica particles dispersed throughout the mass of the catalyst. The silica particles are in the form of finely divided particles incorporated throughout the boron phosphate by reacting at least an 80% solution of phosphoric acid with a mixture of finely divided boric acid (average size smaller than 240 B.S.S.) and fine particles of silica (mainly smoke silica of size 1 mÁ to 0.5 mm). The catalyst may be extruded before drying and formed into pellets of 1/8" to 5/16" diameter. Regeneration of the boron phosphate catalyst may be effected by burning in air at 400‹ to 700‹C from 1 to 24 hours.
