Abstract

1,183,776. Dispensing carrying handles from a reel. NORDISK PLASTER INDUSTRI A.S. 21 June, 1968 [11 July, 1967], No. 29803/68. Heading A4G. In apparatus for dispensing handles from a reeled adhesive strip 15 having spaced grip portions 10 covering the adhesive, the reel pivot 18 moves downwards in slot 20 as the reel size decreases, the reel being supported or spring-loaded on a roller 12 having a fixed pivot 19 parallel to the reel axis, so that as the resistance to unwinding at the wind-off point 21 increases due to transition from a covered to an uncovered portion of strip, the distance from point 21 around the roller 12 to a cutter 22 is constant and allows severing the handles at 7. The non-adhesive side of the strip touches roller 12. The roll may have a fixed axis and the roller may be movable along a curved path. To allow dispensing of handles of different lengths, an adjustable guide roller 23 for the strip may be provided.
