Abstract

1,179,440. Electric motors driving pumps. LICENTIA PATENT - VERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. 27 Sept., 1967 [30 Sept., 1966], No. 43918/67. Heading H2A. An electric motor which mounts the hub 2 of a driven oil burner pump 1 in a bore of its bearing bracket 4 has in the end of such bore an annular oil-collecting chamber 9 which is disposed around the end of the motor shaft and is open towards the outside of the bracket at least at one point 10, and projecting with its outer circumference beyond the inner cylindrical wall of the chamber is a centrifuge ring 8 to throw off leakage oil emerging at the pump shaft 5. This prevents such oil damaging the motor bearing 12 especially when the unit is vertically disposed, and as shown the ring 8 is combined with a coupling member 6, and a felt sealing washer 11 is also provided.
