Abstract

1,176,857. Deep water anchor. TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORP. 19 Dec., 1967 [19 Dec., 1966], No. 57712/67. Heading B7S. A salvageable anchor 16 for use in deep water comprises a tubular member 20 having an open lower end 21 for sinking into the ocean bottom 30, a convex dish-shaped member 22 closing the upper end, a weight cap 24 bonded to the member 22, a pad eye 32 extending from the top of the cap 24 for connection to a chain or cable 34, a suction-fill pipe 36 extending from the interior of the tubular member 20 to a quick opening connector 38 (operable by a line 43) from which a suction-discharge line extends to the water surface for connection to a pump for evacuating and pressuirizing the tubular member 20 and a pad eye 44 on the tubular member for connecting to a mooring line 46.
