Abstract

1,174,651. Cabinets. SOC. VAL-REX. 14 March, 1967 [16 March, 1966], No. 11853/67. Heading A4B. Similar rectangular casings (1) with hinged front flaps 2 and housing drawers 4 are provided with interengaging formations to facilitate stacking in rows and columns, each casing having on one side wall 9 a pair of spaced, downwardly converging mouldings 13a which dovetail with complementary mouldings 13b on the opposite side wall of a similar casing which is engaged by downward movement limited by stops 13c integral with the mouldings 13b. The casing rear wall 15 protrudes beneath the floor (10) of the casing and has a tenon 14 at its bottom edge for engagement with a groove in an underlying casing. The drawer has a handle 7 extending through a slot (8) in the flat 2. As the drawer 4 is pulled out the flap 2 is opened by engagement with the inclined forward edges 6 of the drawer sides. The floor (10) of the casing may comprise a peripheral flange only. A stop 19 on the drawer bottom engages a crossbar 19a to limit withdrawal. The tops 12 of the casings may be omitted, a cover being provided for the uppermost casings. The flap 2 carries a label holder (20). A boss 17 on the casing sidewall frictionally engages a side edge of the flap 2 to hold the bottle open when the drawer is removed.
