Abstract

1,171,993. 1,3-Butadiene. LEUNA-WERKE " WALTER ULBRIGHT " VEB. 10 Feb., 1967, No. 6610/67. Heading C5E. 1,3-Butadiene of polymerizable quality is produced from C 4 -hydrocarbon fractions containing butadiene by means of extractive distillation with dimethyl formamide containing less than 1 wt. per cent water whereby the C4-hydrocarbons which are more volatile than butadiene are stripped from the gas saturated solvent by heating or by a counter-flow of butadiene, while pure butadiene and a gas enriched with hydrocarbons which are less volatile than butadiene are separated by a fractional desorption.
