[Also in Division C3] A scented plastics composition comprises a gas-permeable plastics material having dispersed therein a porous finely divided silica powder, the powder having adsorbed thereon a liquid scent-emitting substance. The scentemitting substance may be a floral perfume, essential oil or insect-repellant. A metal soap, e.g. zinc stearate, may also be present. Di-npropyl-isocinchomeronate, o-dichlorobenzene and cinnamic aldehyde are specified as being useful in a fly-repellant composition.
