[Also in Division E1] A furnace lining brick has one end face formed with a channel 25, bounded by edges 26 and 28, the edge 26 closely abutting the flat end face 23 of an adjacent brick and the edge 28 leaving a mortar gap 27. The edges with the filling exposed form the surface remote from the heat.
